I Need Government Subsidised Home Care
Things are Changing: From 1 November 2025, the Commonwealth Government's "Support at Home" program replaces the Home Care Package Program for all new applicants.
What does this mean for me? The good news is that Government subsidised Home Care is still available, and the process for applying for it is largely unchanged. You just need to be aware that the process does take time, and there is a national waiting list of people who have been approved for Government subsidised Home Care. For those reasons, anyone applying for the first time now will be transitioned to the new Support At Home Program rather than the outgoing Home Care Package program.
How To Apply:
The process to apply for Government subsidised Home Care starts with a call to the Commonwealth Government's "My Aged Care" help line on Ph: 1800 200 422 or an online application through the Commonwealth Government's "My Aged Care" website.
However, our experience is that many clients find the process confusing, and they get "lost" in the system, resulting in extra delays and disappointment.
